Tomarrow is the final day of the SEO competition in my Web Production class ~ I have created this clover leaf at Tagxedo, to hopefully give me some extra luck to win!

Can't go to the Kentucky Derby? Play this free online horse adventure game instead!

OK, Like most ordinary folks, you'll watch the 2011 Kentucky Derby on May 7th, from your TV, computer, or mobile device. But, if you get the Horse racing fever, there are free online horse games to play instead!
I found a very cute and kid friendly game for free at http://www.horse-games.org/Peny_Courageous_Ride.html.

In this game a cute character named "Felicity" rides her beloved horse, "Penny" to find her pal "Ben" and picks up points along the way. The game is easy to play, and the background music is quite charming. It's also interesting that the main character is a girl that looks like she could be one of the "American Doll" models  from the 1800's! Try it yourself, and I think you'll enjoy it!

Fun Information about Mother's Day, and an easy and inexpensive gift idea too!

In honor of Mother's Day, on Sunday, May 8, 2011, I found a fun link to a site that explains the history of Mother's Day. It also has some quotes that would be nice in a simple card for your Mom.

It can be hard to figure out a perfect, and creative gift to give to your cool mom. But, after looking around the web for gift ideas, I found a great gift for Mom that you could easily do on your own:

Find an old frame, or pick one up from a goodwill store.
Get sturdy paper and any type of acrylic paint.
Take your hands, press them carefully in the paint, and then onto the paper.
Do one hand print, for each member of your family...or maybe just the kids.
Sign and date, wait for it to dry, and place in frame.
Voila! A cool and unique gift that any Mom would love!

Here are 2 versions of this idea...it would be easy and fast to make!

I want to say a personal Thank You to Duluth's OpenMIC blog for adding me as a link, in my quest to win a Search Optimization Contest at my Hennepin Technical College Web Production Class.

The class competition involves a whole class creating blogs or websites based on the Very Random Phrase " Bustizzle Outeezy".

Every thursday the instructor googles the phrase " Bustizzle Outeezy" during class, and we see which blog or website is in the lead. It's been a fun and informative way to learn about the web, and how SEO works!

Advanced Word Clouds for the Adventurous!

Ok, I promised to connect you to cool websites with fun free stuff, and I think I hit the jackpot today!

Tagxedo is an advanced ( but still EZ) site to use to create those really cool word cloud images that you see "everywhere". Without knowing an ounce of  "Illustrator", you too can be a Graphic Designer! And, you can print out your designs!

(Warning: I would supervise a younger kids on this site, because some "Gallery" items may have explicit language. I did not personally see anything offensive, but it is entirely possible.)
